Divvy up socks1/25/2024 After 8 weeks, we have sold over 370 pairs and raised more than $1,800 for Children's Miracle Network, Shands Children's Hospital and FSU's College of Medicine. KIDS ARE SHOOTING HOOPS WITH ROLLED UP SOCKS, BUT PANDEMIC PHYSICAL EDUCATION. For every pair of DMFSU socks sold, we give $5 to their fundraising efforts and a pair of clean socks to the Tallahassee homeless community. Some students lack the equipment, space or parental support to participate fully. This fall, we partnered with Dance Marathon at Florida State University (DMFSU) to create custom socks for their philanthropic organization. Id buy again but with a photo that doesnt have any hair or accessories in the way and only as a joke or for a smaller and thinner foot. Each sock has an elastic arch, a no-show heel, and a hand-sewn toe seam for comfort. To date, we have gifted over 5,200 pairs of clean socks to homeless shelters across Florida, with most going to Tallahassee's Kearney Center. The socks unfortunately are much smaller than anticipated so my husband cant get them on his size 10 foot but it was meant more as a joke anyways so I guess I cant really complain. Sock Materials After years of research and development, we have created a premium sock made from 96 polyester, 2 nylon, and 2 spandex. Over the past year, we have sold socks at various markets and events around Tallahassee and through our website. After 6 weeks, our project enabled the Tallahassee community to give 160 pairs of clean socks to The Shelter!Īfter the initial success, we invested $1,600 to buy more socks and to build a website during the summer. We received a $400 loan from our professor to purchase inventory and set up on campus wherever we could. Seeing that fun socks were trending on our college campus, we decided to buy a batch of designer socks with a mission to give pair to the homeless shelter for every pair sold. That got us thinking about ways we could give socks on a sustainable basis. My sister’s fiancé LOVES them with a pix of their dog and my brother in law showed them off in a bar, leg propped up on table to show his socks with pix of his 2 kids.
